Here, we are with two of our athletes : “Birdie” BALAC13, a chairball supervisor, and “Tawan” BALAC14, a member of our graphic design team.

Let’s get started to know more about the team!!

Why chairball but not the other sports?

Birdie: I used to play it when I was in highschool, and I really enjoyed it. It is a very exciting sport, you know, when shooting the ball and blocking the competitors.

Tawan: I used to play it when I was in highschool as well. However, I was not playing in an important match, just for the P.E. class with my classmates. And I would like to try it again. I joined the team because chairball is a sport that doesn’t have so many rules, and I believe that is the fun of it.

How do you practice for the game?

Tawan: We are now practicing by ourselves. For me, I am doing basic exercise such as running and biking to make my body strong and feel comfortable for the match. I cannot really train much because there is no equipment and peers to play with. But I am looking forward to meeting everyone soon!

Birdie: Well, we are still figuring out the time that we could all come practice at the campus. Probably someday after class.

Do you have any tricks or tips?

Birdie: I don’t really have, but I guess just follow the rules and be conscious.

Tawan: Since this is my first time in this real and serious match, I will just face it and hope for the best. *laugh* Oh, and to add up, I think teamwork is also essential for chairball in order to win. So, I will try my best and have fun with my friends.

So, what is your goal?

Birdie: Of course, fun comes first, no matter if we win or lose.

Tawan: I think it is to create friendship and have a fun time together with upperclassmen and my friends.

Lastly, do you want to say something about chairball or the overall?

Birdie: Most people would think chairball is an easy sport, but it is actually INTENSE. So, keep up!!

Tawan: Since this is my first year in college, I am very glad to get to be a part of BALAC intergames which is an important activity for all inter-chula. I hope all of us will have a fun experience together and make new friends all along the way. And of course, I will try my best.

This is all for today, thank you so much Birdie and Tawan for this fun interview and good luck on your match!!

Sadly, this is our last sport article, we hope you all got to know more about our sport teams and the athletes. Don’t forget that our sports such as Basketball, Badminton, Chairball, and Volleyball competitions are on the 14th March, and the Football match is on the 19th March. Don’t forget to cheer our BALAC Teams and wish our athletes good luck!!
